Does anyone know how strong these studs are?
I overtorqued one of the studs. Heard a snap. Afterwards, I could not remove the stud (with my fingers or allen key), so I tighten back the nut. As I tighten more, the nut or stud "skips" like an eighth of a turn but it still gets tight.
Anyone know what's up?

STOP!
It *sounds* like you snapped the stud where it threads into the block, about 1-2 threads below the deck's surface. You don't want to keep trying to thread it in and screw up any more threads.
I'm afraid it appears you have no choice other than to remove the head and see what's really damaged. Or at the very least, try to remove that stud (using a little more effort).
I hope I'm wrong........

STOP! STOP! STOP! Nick is right also FIRST check the nut it may be cracked and skipping when tightened. Look for a hairline crack in the nut, actually the nut is usually the weak link. if not then check the stud. If all that looks good check the head for cracks. Man I hope it is the nut . Good Luck ///J.T.///
