something s wrong!!!

to make that story short I was following a friend yesterday night and I decided to take my car to the limiter wich I did around 155 mph cut off,then the engine makes a funny sound check engine came on,car is runnig rough so I stopped at the next exit then to my surprise there is flame coming out of my exhaust,my friend told me that there was about 1 feet or 2 flame coming out at wot when I passed him and the exhaust line was red hot almost till the engine it seems like it s running rich ,black smoke, I looked in the engine bay no hose were off nothing seemed wrong but the oil dipstik smeled the gas,anybody has an idea of what happenig???my car is going to the shop where I had the supercharger instaled this afternoon.now it s running rough and I have to hold the gas if not it shuts down

its your car telling you that you did a stupid thing on a public road.




you your exhaust glowing would say lean conditions, fire says rich... not holding idle says something messed up O2 sensor wise or ICV valve or something. Read the codes bro.

If you hit the speed limiter than the way the car stops it is by cutting the pulses to the injectors on a couple of cylinders. So some are still getting fuel. It probably loaded the cylinders up with fuel and then lit it. You probably set a code fo a cylinder missfire. My car has set those before and it runs real rough until you turn it off or reset the computer.

Exactly! Buy a Peake reset tool and reset your computer. Case solved!

well the problem was more simple than I thought,I lifted the car and found out that hose coming out of the intercooler was out....so that was my problem,since the air didn t get to the engine the maf read too much air making it run way too rich,thanks for all the solutions,problem solved :)

i would have suggested turning the car off for awhile then turning it back on and seeing if it clears.

I would've paid money for a video of your car shooting flames out of the exhaust at 155 MPH....

Mine pops flames out of the exhaust on downshifts when it's hot :D....
