e34 525i oil pan differences

There seem to be two different part numbers for e34 525i oil pans.

one is for up to 02/94 production, the other is after that.

you guys know what the difference is? A bimmerforum member has a brand new oil pan for sale (up to 02/94) and I wanted to pick it up for my s52e30 swap. Wanted to know the difference before hand. Any help?

I recently found out what the difference is. The later version of the pan does NOT have the baffle built into the pan. The baffle is bolted to the bottom of the block. The earlier version has the baffle bolted to the pan which can easily be removed. There are only four bolts holding it down. We recently had to replace a pan on a 95 525i and we used the older style pan with the baffle removed and there were no problems doing so. Hopefully this helps anyone else who is looking for this information.

So when I got my replacement M50 out of an e36 I had to change both the pan and the oil pick up.
