How do these lock in? The on on the drivers side, nearest the door is loose. I tried turning it both left and right and can not get it to lock in place. What do I need to do!?
Thanks

Make sure it is in the hole, they are kinda difficult to put in. I usually guide it in, and then use a quarter to turn them in place. I think if I turn it to the right it gets tighter.

You have to push down relatively hard to compress the carpet and padding before you turn.

Getting them out without breaking the tab off is the real trick.

You can buy new ones at the dealer pretty cheap.
I have wished many times that they had stronger ones that were made of metal. I have considered having some made up, but I never got around to it. I don't have any welding equipment or good contacts to anyone that does.
I was going to use elevator bolts, which are bolts with large diameter thin heads and an allen socket in the center. The idea was to weld on a rod at the end of the bolt to form a T that was similar in dimension to the factory plastic locks. They do have a square shoulder under the head that would probably have to be ground off.
If anyone wants to make some up, I'd be happy to be your first customer.
