This morning the car would just start for 1 second then shut down after that like if gas stopped flow into the injectors or soemthing. I decided to replace the fuel pump and fuel pump relay. I thought this would do it not NO!!! I took out the spark plugs and they were wet with gas at the tip....flooded I guess from pumping the accelerator hoping the car would start.

Now what? Is there anything else I can check, a sensor. The onboard computer is normal too.

Thanks for your help!!!

Check to make sure the MAF is plugged in and that you don't have any vacuum leaks. Also make sure your pre-cat O2 sensors are plugged in correctly.

Have you done anything on or around the intake manifold/MAF lately that might have caused a vacuum leak?

I've replaced the head so everything has been apart, but everything has new gaskets. except the injectors which stayed attached to the rail. I think it may be fuel related mixing with a minor vacuum leak. If one injector had a vacuum leak, it would effect the entire engine since the static pressure would drop on all the intake runners?
Also do you think its possible that the intake manifold might of pinched a gasket somewhere or it is not seated properly on the head?

this may sound trivial, but are you sure you put your plug wires back in the exact order they're supposed to be? because that will cause the exact symptoms you're showing...

Check the crank position sensor. If this fails, the engine won't start.

plug wires, as in spark plug wires. they're pretty idiot proof. If you mean the temp sensors, maybe, but I made sure to put them back in the same order. Blue connectr sensor in front I think and the black one in back. i tagged everything when I did the job. also that brown ground wire coming out of the injector harness thats attached to the fuel rail infront of the engine. does that connect to the engine lift ring bolt or on the fuel rail mounting bolt. i figure the engine lift ring.

I'm having this same problem with a 93 325i. It starts well then if I drive somewhere turn it off then when I try to turn it on again I won't start. It's like the engine is not getting any gas...it idles for lie 1 second the cuts off like it's not getting gas....
can ideas anyone?

See also, except I can get it to start and drive, then it dies after I try to give it gas, then won't restart unless I let it sit for a while:

The video I posted seem similar to the way yours tries to start then dies?
