i was riding in my friends e39 528i/5 the other day and there was an orange 'glow' in the cabin. i looked up and saw to little led's or something. not sure what they are, but it made it look awesome inside the car. does anyone have more into about the lights? thanks

i know more about his car than he does. don't you think i would have if i thought he knew? i just don't want to pull down his sunroof switch/lights to see if someone can simply answer a question.
thanks for the sound advice though

Well yea,
in the heading panel where the sunroof switch is located there are two amber colored LEDs that light up the inside of the car. dunno if they are any kind of special lights or anything but I am sure you can find them somewhere and install them easily into any car you want.
I like the glow produced from them; it almost creates a special ambience inside the car..

they just shine down on where the shifter and whatnot is. if you put your hand over there, you can see it, and see anything that is there, but you dont notice the light while you are driving like you would with a normal light, or having to turn the dome light on to see something. the light shining on just the shifter and center console doesnt really light much up and cause a distraction.
