NOS can work well if done correctly, but that's the key...doing it correctly...
Watch this vid of a mustang getting its intake manifold blown apart when the NOS hits...

You have to make sure you address fueling issues properly with NOS otherwise your engine could suffer the same fate...
as jon said...spend money on other go-fast goodies.

NOS aka naaaaaaaaaaawzzzz = Ricer term for Nitrous Oxide, name brand -- for the kiddies who only know the fast and furious.
Nitrous = Power in a bottle.
Sorry.... it just drives me nuts when people refer to all Nitrous Oxides as "NOS"

Yeah, but I think those prices also reflect the costs of installation and tuning by a third party. I sure as hun know I wouldn't trust myself to rig up a system on my bimmer. I looked into it all, and the installation kills you. Although, 600 seems to be a pretty damn good price for the kit itself.

A suggestion if you are not familiar with a power of a turbo M3 it can be more than a average driver can handle.
If you are looking for more power than his stage 1 kit then go to his stage 2.
If I was you I would get a lower compression head gasket and then ask Nick to tune the kit for more boost 11 to 12 psi then there should be no real need for nos and the power you have all the time under your right foot. :D
Nos does not last long between fill ups and you need the right temp around the bottle to get the right pressure out of it for max efficiency.

what about a bottle heater and blow down tube

what about a bottle heater and blow down tube
Only a blow down tube is really a safety measure and only required or even needed when using it in an NHRA event,.

If I'm not mistaken, a blow down tube is only used if the bottle isn't sealed from the cabin; installation in a coupe/hatchback.
