I am attempting to find out which CD Changer will actually work in my car, does anyone know what it would be or where i could find all the possible part numbers?

98 323IS all i have found out so far is that it has to be Ibus

for my 318ti i brought it to circut city and they did it for me....u probably could get almost any possible changer u want if u go there they have every part to put it in. but if u want to do it urself sorry i can b much help :bluecry1

Thanks guys, i just read up on it all and found a picture of the back on Ebay

At least i now know for sure that the wires i found were for the CD changer.

i got one for sale in the classifieds.

it will work in your car 100%. it was installed in my 97 328is which has i Bus. its an alpine changer.

im selling it for $130 shipped. with everything needed for the install.

btw ... im selling mine with the blitz adapter you'll need :) and E36s don't have DSP.

Actually i think it was your FS post that i found it all in.
Unfortunatly $130 american is over 150 canadian, then shipping and duty at the border. In the end it will be well over 200 canadain for me.

But thanks for letting me know about the DSP

$130 for the alpine changer and the blitz adapter is a great deal.

I just bought the alpine from Crutchfield for $180 and I had to pay another $79 for the blitz adapter.

I wish I saw Lawrence1's post before I puller the trigger.

I think the stock e36 Alpine CD changer is part number 82110028760. You'll also need the mounting bracket and the cover.

It should plug and play. When the head unit died in my son's 98 323is, we replaced it with a Sony in-dash CD head unit. I took the Alpine changer and plugged it into my 01 e39 530. Works perfectly.
