I had a question, im planing on buying iFORGED Aero wheels in Black with Chrome lip. I first i was going to buy 19x 8.5 all the way around, but when i talked to a saleman at iFORGED he said I can do 19x8.5 up front and 19x9.5 in rear.??? Is that possible? I thought the bigest size u can go was 19x8.5?

My car is stock, and im planing on installing KW V3's coilovers after and lowering it. Will that cause a problem?????

Yes it will cause a problem in the rear unless you roll the fenders, period. I say GO FOR IT, roll the fenders! Mine are rolled and they look better to me, but most people wouldn't even notice.

How or what is rolling your fenders? Can i do it my self or do i pay someone to do it? Do u have any pics?? Thanks.

Basically a good body shop pulls them out so that they are wider. Pics wouldn't really do any good, but just imagine that my rear fenders look like stock, but are about a 1/2" further out, and there's more room on the back side too. When they were stock I couldn't fit the tip of my pinkie finger between the tire/fender with my dinan springs and stock rims, but now I can fit my whole index finger between.

Rolling refers to flattening the inner fender lip, and is an easy DIY job. Doing anything beyond that risks causing paint damage, so leave it to a shop.

I have 18x9 in the rear and I had to slice off the inner fender lip to properly fit them. I dont know about a 19x9.5 though, the way I have it I barely can fit a pinky finger.

Check my sig. I have no problems with rubbing and i had a body shop roll my fenders for $70 bucks. it took about 25 to 30 minutes for him to do it. You really can do it yourself you just need to be careful. You may also consider using a heat gun to warm up the paint around the area to make it more felxible for purcautionary measures. When i get home i'll download a pic to show you my rear wheels.

Hmmm.. well your car is pretty raised in the rear, there looks like there is almost no tuckage under there. It seem that if your car gets lowered more you will have some rubbing issues. (Thats just what it look like though.. any side shots?

I'm really not to crazy about the idea of lowering my car. It's already a pretty rough ride as it is in stock form so i'm not one to want to make it an even rougher ride. For now the stock susupension is fine with me. This is the only car i drive (not often at all, but still the only car i have). Maybe one day if i buy another lux car and get to keep this one as well i would probably work on the suspension.
To be honest tho, i don't think i would have a problem with rubbing even if i do get the rear tucked. I had four people in my car (at once :D , rarely ever happens), and i went over pretty big bumps. You know the kind when your going at speed on the highway and then the whole car goes up real quick and then as far down as it can possibly go, Like your flying for a second (don't take that literally as if i had my car off all four tires) and there was no rubbing at all. So i don't think lowering suspension woulf effect me. You just have to buy the correct offset and correct tire size,
Here's a couple of side pics for you:

do you guys with large wheels notice a decrease in performance due to the extra weight/more rotating mass? i just stepped up to 18in E46 m3 replicas and the car does not feel as snappy as it did with the stock 17's. but i guess it depends on what your priority for the car is looks v.s. performance and what you're willing to sacrifice to achieve either.

It depends on the wheel too. That's why I'm thinking BBS CH would be a good way to go in a 19. I'm not sure how much they weigh, but I remember them being LIGHT.

Do you guys know if I can run 17x9 ssr gt1's with 245/40/17 with a 5mm spacer up front as well as hub spacers but not having the front or rear fenders rolled? The offset on the gt1's is 45. BTW, my car is lowered about 1.5".Thanks

liilpa09, are those oe e46 m3 wheels or replicas, and what size are they? i just got a set of e46 18in reps and they dont look as large as those.

I read somewhere that putting spacers was not safe. I'm not sure if this is true. what's the largest size wheel you can go without having rubbing issues? 18x8.5?

They're replicas...18x8.5

thanks bro, what size tires are you running? the guy i got them off put 225/40/18's on them and i dont like the way the tire fits the rim. the lip of the rim is really exposed, i want to go with a higher profile tire and something with the curb saver type sidewall. i dont know what width mine are though. i definately do not like how low the profile is on these tires, way too many potholes and bad roads around here.

i'm running 225/40 too. BF Goodrich ta kdw 2. I wish i could go wider but don't wanna go to a 35 series sidewall

Well at your height there would be no need to worry about rubbing to much. I think he's asking about lowering his car with his coilover kit and having no rubbing issues. I'm dropped on H&R Race and I literally had to cut off the whole inner fender lip to fit them well...I'm not even that tucked either.

I'm not even sure if I did because I was modding my car at the time I switched wheels. I'm not sure if the increased power compensated for my wheel size. My Roja's 18x8 front set weigh 22lbs each and in the rear my 18x9's weigh 23lbs each so they weight almost exactly what my stock double spoke 17's did. I’m sure the increase in size throws off the speedometer, gear ration + more but I’m not sure how bad its truly affects me. I'm dynoing my car this month with my 18's and also with some 17's to see the difference.

I am running 19x9 up front with 15mm spacer and the car is LOW. You have to remember that it all depends on wheel offset though. :)
