This morning, I hit the remote to lock the car and I get three chirps like if you leave the door open. I rechecked the doors, hood, and trunk but still had the same problem. Whats going on here? Is the keyless entry low on battery power? :help

its probably a short somewhere (probably trunk wiring) and the alarm thinks one of your doors, trunk, or hood is open.

Does it lock the doors? I forget what happens if you try to arm with a door open... whether it locks the doors or not.

no, it doesn't lock the doors even though all the doors are closed. If a door is open, the alarm will chirp three times (kinda like saying what the hell are you doing, I'm still open) and right now I'm getting three chirps.

Ok... now if the alarm was working properly, and the hood or trunk was open, would it lock the doors when you armed the car? Trying to narrow down the problem (doors vs. trunk vs. hood).

I had it happen once but it was my hood wasn't latched. Hope so as it can be a bee-och to chase down shorts.

So I was thinking... if it's a door that isn't registering as being closed, wouldn't the dome lights be on inside the cabin? if the lights are off, then it's the trunk. I left my hood open, and I swear it beeped at me twice, not three times (like when a door was left open).

try this, may not work but I would give it a try.... (this did happen to me BTW) push down on the lower left side of the hood (as u look at it) and make sure it is closed. I would shut my hood sometimes and it would appear closed, but the little switch right there would not make a contact until I pressed on the hood really hard.

I'll try the hood thing, any other suggestions?

Alright, it was the hood thing. The left side of the hood never really fully closes so the alarm sensor isn't fully depressed. How do you fix this hood problem?

Glue a lego to the hood where it's at so it will depress the switch. Done and done

You need to specify the color of the chosen lego block, maybe I need to buy a bmw f1 lego car and use a piece from that.... throwing some heritage in the mix!

This must with no exceptions be the color of your car. The heritage idea must also be incorporated without fail :D

no no no, the alarm churps twice when everything is ok when you arm it. when you disarm it churps twice.
when the car chirps three times that means something is open or.... something is loose in your trunk. when it happend to me i had a loose light covers for my tails and everytime i churped three times it would be that. check the back if not double check all the doors and make sure you close them good. if that doesn't work then i dont' know...
