I was riding home the other day down a local road. This silver (last year) Prelude pulls up next to me and revs, so I rev back. We're doing about 20 then we take off. The whole time he is slowwwwwwwwwly pulling away from me. After about a half mile he was ½ car to a car length ahead of me. I realize I can't beat him from a stop light because my car is so heavy, but what can I do to help me nudge past this guy. I see him on this road allll the time.

I have a 2000 323ci cabrio
Performance Mods:

R/D Sways
R/D Exhaust
R/D FSB
Dinan CAI

It's a 5 speed as well.

I plan on getting the ESS sometime in the not too distant future, but I want to wait and see what my end of the year is going to look like.

Nothing that's toooo costly, but I'm willing to spend some loot. Oh yeah, I'm rolling on factory 16s.

One more thing, this was flats straight away, not through the turns. Even though the Prelude was the best handling car under $30k I think, I beleive I could do ok through the turns. I know the roads pretty good by now.
Gracias.

Easy

Have you seen the OLD cartoons where they pour salt on the birds feathers and then its stuck there?

Toss a sandbag in the prelude and its lack of torque will turn it into a 10 second car... in the 1/8

SS328, that's a funny ass sig. "Lisa saved us from the moth." or "Let's play the game of Lent.":laugh

Seriously though, they are quick, but I was surprised that I was right there with him, for the most part. I had thought about software, that's $400 from Dinan I believe. Any other suggestions besides modding the Prelude?:laugh

I used to drive a 99 prelude. Terrible from stop. low torque, need high revs to get going. If you add 17s or larger tire, you should eat him up a corners unless the prelude is modded. Also the bmw with rear wheel drive corners better, the prelude tend to dive (scary as hell).

some clear corners, they add, oh, 15-25 hp PER corner.

just kidding, get NOS. most bang for your buck, and you will beat him.

:laugh Don't worry though, I'm getting some soon.

Let me rephrase...anything but NOS as well. Don't want the engine stress.
