View Full Version : Question about fan delete, what exactly is it?

I have tried my best to search for the answer to this, but cant seem to find any information. What is the fan delete? What exactly does it do? What parts would I need, and the ever present..... how much does this cost me? Any information will be a huge help. Thank you!

Well it was engineered by someone on this forum. It was the first product he sold before starting understeer.com. From what i have learned.

What is does is eliminates the ENGINE driven fan, only leaving you with one electrical fan to cool your car. You also receive a lower thermostast and thermostat switch to make it safe to run only your electric fan. I am not familiar with water wetter, but that is also used when installing the fan delete kit. Basically you are relieving your engine from using horsepower to turn that fan, and instead that horsepower is now concentrated to the ground. I call it freeing up horsepower to the wheels, as opposed to adding horsepower. The horsepower was always there, but before it was being used on the engine driven fan, now its available to go to the wheels.

Someone else might be able to explain it better.

Oh. I just typed in fan delete, and nothing really came up that I was hoping for. Sorry for asking such a stupid question, but I was just curious. But thank you all for your help.
