My OBC light has dimmed. I read the article on bmwe30.net on how to replace it, but it's not detailed enough. I can't find the other screws to pull out. I already got the bulb holder and I'm in the middle of this frustrating task because I can't find a few screws. The picture in the article shows an older OBC, so I'm guessing the screw locations have changed and I can't find them. Please help ASAP so I can get this resolved! Thank you.

Dammit! I realized what the problem is, there's a 1 inch thick piece of foam super glued over where the screws should be? I have a 85 325e, has anyone dealt with this? Thanks.

Now I've managed to pull out the right side of the OBC so I could see the bulb holder, I'm trying to pull it out with a needle nose plyer but it's not coming out! Please help. THanks.

I know this is a little late and hope everything turned out O.K.
I just did this on my '89 is. You need to pull on the plastic tab in the middle of the white square end. Make sure you're pulling perpendicular to the OBC. There is decent amount of "click" when it pops out, but I didn't have to pull that hard.

what type of bulb is it, i have the same problem on '87 325? it just happend like a week ago, havent really bothered with it yet.
It isn't a regular type of bulb if I remember. You have to buy a little fixture to replace. You can find it on the internet. I think www.bavarianautosport.com sells them and also maybe www.bmpd.com
Try checking those out.

When I replaced mine, I made a stupid mistake. When testing the operation, I turned the key to "accesory" mode (not to ignition) and the light did not illuminate. Thinking I must have gotten a bad light assembly, I ordered another. When I installed the new one, I had the same results. It wasn't until I turned the key to ignition for some other reason and noticed the light was now working! :complain If I had only thought of this simple thing before!!!!
The bottom line is that I have an extra light that probably works fine. I can send it to anyone who wants it. They're around $25 at Bav AutoSport.
Let me know......:smoke3:
