i want to know when buying lighter rims around 17-19 lbs will that make turning and handling better and more communicativa or the opposive Lighter wheels will allow the spring/shock combo to react more quickly to the road surface.
When cornering at speed over a bumpy track surface, the weight of the wheels/tires may mean the difference between sticking (light wheels/tires and quick reacting suspension), and skipping across the track surface, and going for an agricultural expedition (heavy wheels/tires and slow reacting suspension).
The reactivity of the suspension affects ride quality. Lighter wheels/tires may actually improve ride quality compared with heavier wheels/tires of the same dimensions?
Lighter wheels/tires means less drag on the motor, which means more of the engine's horsepower can be used to accelerate the car more quickly.
17 to 19 lbs for 8.5/9.5 x 17 is damned light. Most cast wheels in those sizes are between 22 and 26 lbs.
Tire weight is an issue. Heaviest 245/40-17 tire is Bridgestone S-03 at 26 lbs. Lightest 245/40-17 is Pirelli P-Zero Rosso at 21 lbs (according Tire Rack's tire weight spec charts).
A Breyton 9.5 x 17 wheel mounted with a 245/40-17 S-03 is 52 lbs!
A factory LTW 8.5 x 17 wheel with a 245/40-17 P-Zero Rosso is 42 lbs!
BBS RGR 9 x 17 with 245/40-17 Rosso is 39 lbs!
Lighter still is an 8.5 x 17 SSR GT2 with a 245/40-17 Rosso tire at 37 lbs!
10-13 lbs per corner is 40-52 lbs of extra unsprung weight and unnecessary engine drag. The Breyton setup will look great, but stick and acceleration performance will suffer greatly!

225 45 17 and 245 40 17 Mich PS2 are 21 lbs each. I weighed them when I ordered them. Lighter tire are better for acceleration than lighter wheels as they are furthest from the center.

http://www.wheelweights.net/ lots and lots of wheelsTrivial correction to CVL Roadster's wheel weight table. '93-'95 Mazda Rx7 wheels in 8 x 16, 50-mm offset were 15.4 lbs, not 13.8 lbs. The early release '93s had problems with cracking where the spoke meets the wheel rim. Later models up to 1995 had no problems. '93 to '95 US spec, Type FD Rx7 wheels were squeeze cast.

You should get you some 17" SSR Comps. They're the lightest wheels (at 15lbs/ea) I could afford that still looked pretty clean.
