Both windows on my M3 do not go up completely when using the auto up feature. they'll both go maybe 1/3 the way up, then stop and reverse for an inch or so and stop. My 325is does not act this way, they go all the way up when using the auto up feature.

Is this a problem? the manual says the window will stop if the pressure is too much, like there is something blocking it from going all the way up (this is how it's acting)

are there some lube points in there that I need to take care of?

From what I've read the seals and mechanics that rub against the window get too dry causing friction and the window thinks there's something in the way. Sorry I don't have a product to recommend.

these windows are tinted, maybe that has something to do with it...

I have a Rain X cleaner that I'll try on it tonight and see if that helps. if I can fix it without pulling the door panel (pulling it is not a big deal) that would be awesome (less time consuming).

anyone else have any thoughts on this?

I think it has to do with the safety feature built into the windows. If it gets any resistance it will go back down. I would check to see if there is a way to lube the track and parts. Do a search on the site, I think I have seen this thread before.

That happens to my driver's side window occasionally. It's hard to tell if it's actually resistance from the seals or something, but there are times where I have to "tap" the button to get the window up.
I tried "helping" it along with my other hand while pressing the button, but I don't remember it making a difference. I think sometimes a bad window regulator causes this.
Do a search. This is a common problem.

window regulator. I had this problem and I took it to the dealer when it was still under warranty and the fixed it.

Is that part #14 (http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do?model=BK73&mospid=47477&prod=&btnr=51_2121&hg=51&fg=10&hl=38) on this pic?
