Brake question

I am going to be replacing rotors, pads, switching to stainless lines, sensors this weekend. Got my bentley and haynes in the mail today and was reading to make sure I knew the procedure and read something that concerned me. Both warn that bleeding the system on cars with AST and ABS can only be properly done by BMW dealership or mechanic with specialty tools. The haynes says that this is only a concern if you disconnect the lines from the master cylinder, hydraulic unit, and the accumulator be disconnected...so the question is - can I complete this work and bleed the system as my car has ASC - which I am assuming is what they are referring to as AST?

Don't let the fluid fall below the bottom of the master cylinder reservoir, and you should be fine. This means work on one wheel at a time. Cover the reservoir top with plastic wrap (the vacuum helps prevent the fluid leaking out).

So for everyone's benefit - the word from a BMW Tech is that as long as I am not "flushing" the system - than a traditional bleed will work fine. If I were "flushing" - it's off to the stealer or a reputable BMW shop....
