hey all,
i'm going to be starting a new project here soon.
i'm going to build up a 2002, mainly just for fun, but the main intention is to have a track beater. and when that happens, take the m3 back to stock, and use that for my daily driver again.
but i'm having issues finding any 2002's for sale. does anyone have any links to sites that sell older cars. i'm looking for a 67-74, or early 75. as i really want a smog exempt car.
thanks,
Brent

Dude, you are in SB, there are TONS of 02's. I bought my first 02 from Kurt at Granny's Garage. It is off Milpitas. Go talk to him. Good luck!

ya, it seems for finding these at a good price. you have to know someone, rather than finding it online through a website.
i have a lead on a mint '02 for $1500 through a friend of mine. but i think i've seen the car before, and its a 77 auto

there are no '77 model year deuce's
auto's are prime for 5 speed swaps, cause of the wider tranny tunnel. getting the driveline correct is a bitch. that's all i really know about those cars.
check roadfly, craigslist, bmw2002faq, also independent mechanics like carl nelson at la jolla independent.

thanks for the info! that wider tranny tunnel is a great thing. i must be thinking of a different car then, as i could have swore someone told me it was a 77. guess i should talk to the owner before i make assumptions huh.

It's not hard to get the driveline correct during a 5 speed swap.
