Does E46 shift boot/knob fit E36

The reason I ask is I plan on doing 6 speed conversion and I have someone who will give me 6 speed boot/lighted knob all one piece -- I'm wondering if this will fit in my car? It is either off of an M5 or a euro M3 maybe

knob fits. boot doesnt since the center console design in different.

Thats too bad -- the thing is all one piece, therefore it entirely won't work
