Hey guys,

I'm about to pull the trigger on a used Euro Oil Filter so that I can run an oil cooler.

I know the cooler essentially bolts right up to an S50 but I was curious if there is any modifications needed to fit all the attachments onto the euro housing? For some reason, I remember reading about a Vanos line (or something similar) that won't bolt up and the hole needs to be enlarged and tapped. Couldn't find anything using a search though... :dunno

So I'm curious if there are any modifications I will need to know about?

Thanks.

I had no issues with Vanos plumbing when installing the euro filter housing on my S50.

Did you look on ETKA for thread/pitch sizes? Compare the S50 with S50B32?

Thanks badmonkey.

Glad to hear that you didnt have any issues with the install/hookup.

What cooler setup are you using? IIRC, you have one mounted behind the kidneys, correct?

yes, a Mocal core with braided lines. Minor installation fab, but easy install really. Pics when i find them..

Did you do this yet ?
I'm considering this for my car. How much did you pay for the housing ?

Its my next project after I get my oil pump nut done.

Gebhardt wants $275 for the housing but i plan to buy a used one for less (if its still avaliable).

Is that with a 10% cca discount ?

For my bros 325is race car, chuck stickley used the stock housing but had a machine shop alter it to fit the euro cooler lines and all. If you dont have a machine shop nearby, just buy a new or used one if you can find it.

What exactly would a machinist do ? I need to be able to tell them what to do. Do they just need to tap the housing ?

Yea, I believe they just drilled and tapped the housing. Everything worked out perfectly. Just make sure you take it to a trustworthy machine shop
