7000? Eek dude, your eyes will want to fall out of your skull after a few weeks. Between the strain on your eyes and the more than purple hue, you'll want 4300k back. I bought 5000k because I wanted some blue hue, and I don't mind the blue, but I could step up to 4300k and be happy.

Imaging in my boys car with 10,000k. But why would your eyes strain ?

I wouldn't go anything above 6000k. After that its more color output than light. Dont get me wrong 8000k, for example, looks cool. But the lighting it gives you wont be that good. Espcially in the rain. hth

I love the 6000K color. Whitish, purplish, bluish. It turns the orange construction signs a funky pink color. I often wonder what people around me think about the odd colored signs. "What the hell, why is the sign pinkish orange?"

7000K is a very blue color, higher you start getting into more real purplish colors. I don't like the really blue color (sometimes called iceburg blue). I'd go 8000K color temp if I went higher than 6000K.

They are talking about the color temperature. Matter at certain temperatures emits light in a lot of colors, but the observed color is consistent. For example a 6000K rating for a bulb means the light being emitted by the HID bulb would have the same color composition as an object (or gas) that is heated to 6000 degrees on the Kelvin scale.

Sorry, eye fatigue could be a better wording. 7000k probably has close to half as many lumens as 4300k, working your eyes more to see the road. Cooler looking, less functional.
