Aside from the reactions each of the individual body styles evoke, what are the differences between the new 7 series sedans and the 2001 models?
Also, what do you guys think of the newer ones? Would you get one? What would you change?
Thanks!

right, I'll bite:)
this has been posted but maybe people can start moving this along like you guys did in Z3 forum.
Here are some things that you didn't know about the 7:
Wipers adjust every two or three days to keep from getting glued in one spot - this is automatically.
Brake Lights are progressive - if you hit the brake lights and activate the ABS or trip the sensors with too high of a G decelerating the rear "fog" lights or reverse lights go on.
Brake lights are adaptive in that if one of the bulbs stops working, you'll get notified but another bulb in the immediate vicinity will be commandeered to take its place until a replacement bulb is installed.
As for the look, I'll keep my E38:) Money and looks being a key issue.
E65 , '02 models = mistake
E38 , older models = the car to keep, although would like to get the technologocial advances fitted (except iDrive)

While I can see why the new 7 is controversial, I am not as disgusted as many of the other guys over the new design. In all fairness, the car (aside from design) is probably on top of the world in terms of technology/performance/handling, etc, and I personally believe the design will catch on eventually, perhaps just a little ahead of its time. wait 2-3 years and see.
Having said that....
I can't afford the new 7 in a long time to come, but in any case I find the current 7 (E38) to be so damn successful in terms of BOTH design AND performance/handling that I will VERY happy with mine for the foreseeable future. I have no plans to get rid of it (unless getting another E38) in a looooong time - provided that I can afford to keep it...
My two cents :)
