:help I'm down to the two finalists for my upgrade to 18". Either choice will be 18x8.5 with the same offset. Here are the internal mental arguements I'm having:

BBS RC
Lighter, less expensive, center cap not the most attractive

BBS RSII
Really like the look of the bolts, heavier, more expensive, I heard this may be discontinued so replacement wheels in the future could be an issue,

1. What would you choose? Please share your opinion and any pro's and con's
2. Please post pics if you have. I've seen a fair number of pics of RCJ's posted but less so of RC's and very few of RSII's

Thanks! :D

Well, we have RSII on our 84 M635csi but to be hones tend to like the RCs better.

I would pick RC's. Like you said they are lighter and less expensive. They look alot better than RSII's.

I've been drooling over the RCs for a long time now. I think they look pretty sharp.

Be different. Go with the RSII's with the polished lip. They are purty.

RSII are nice, but they dont offer any brake clearance (if you had any intention of ever getting a BBK...the RC and RCJ on the other hand do clear most BBKs.

Just another thought....personally I like the RCJ best..

RC's and RCJ's are great wheels I go with them over any other BBS wheel.

Rich - nice ride... very clean

RCJ's - My preference would be to buy those over RC's.... unfortunately, from what I understand, they are no longer in production... auuughhh

IMO when you can't decide between two rims, it means that you need a third option, get something else.

Here is a pic of mine. Sorry if it's not a m3. RS II is definitely gonna be harder to clean due to the titanium bolts. Also, not sure if you noticed, RS II has a hidden value stem (not visible from the outside), which should justify that it is a special wheel :) .

Wheel cleaning doesn't scare me :D . I've learned to live with it through my factory double spokes and the factory wheels I have on my 2003 530i which has a similar spoke pattern and bolts to the RS II.

What is the hidden valve stem? Is that something that will stump the tire installer?

Well, to pump up the the tire on a RS II, you need a value stem extension. If you look at those bolts, one of them is actually a screw cap. That is where the extension goes. You just screw it in. Its sort of like a removable metallic value stem. I guess its mainly for visual effects. You won't see any value stem extrusions on the wheel.
