Greetings - can anyone point me to some links where I may find more information about the impending 2005 M5 with the V10? Or if anyone else knows any even speculative details surrounding this possibility, also I would appreciate if you could share.

Thanks - right now I'm setting my sights on this car - it's just going to be incredible if it does indeed get a V10. Not to mention the 5-series in general, whatwith the potential i6-twinturbo!

Yup... 2005 is hoping for a V10 engine in the 500hp arena that will sprint to 60 in a scant 5 seconds.

I would hope it would go 0 to 60 in 5 seconds, I'm pretty sure the current M5 does 0-60 in less than 5 seconds (4.8 maybe?).

It's suppose to be 4.8 -5.0 sec 0-60.

Does anyone know if they are going to incorporate the SMG or will there still be the standard 6-Speed?? I hope they do both!!!!

The new M5 will have SMG III on it as well.

Hopefully by then I'll have enough money to get one.

I heard SMG XVII ??? And a 0-60 time of sub 3 seconds???? I think that knowone really knows?? (except for BMW) All speculation! But a V10 would be great!!! :D

The V10 is confirmed. 20" confirmed. How fast, who cares, it's a V10. Talked to a BMW guy at a golf outing. :clap:

0-60 mph time is not the bible. more indicative of performance would be the 1/4 mile and unrestricted top speed...

With the barrage of high tech electronics and plethora of sensors on all the new BMWs, I think the idea of engine swapping on new BMWs has died. :rolleyes:
