Go to Barnes and Noble and read through all the car magazines you want. That's what I do :). The B&N near me carries I think about 4 or 5 BMW-only magazines.

a summary article is "buyers guide to 3 series coupes" by brendan lopez in european car magazine from april 2000 issue and reviews models since 1984.
website is europeancarweb.com
perhaps they have back issues.

I would also recommend European Car Magazine, though not about BMWs specifically, it has a lot of "project cars", including both an E36 M3 and 325is. The projects you can read on-line for free.

All good.

i do the same thing :redspot , i have also had a subscription to "bimmer" and "european car", but i don't suggest any of them, they usually only have two or three pages of good stuff and 50 pages of crap i don't care about.

magazines are usually crap, they have info that's widely available on the net for free and usually its old news.

the only good thing about them is occasionally you see a cool modified car, but most of the time its overdone and riced

I just got the newest Bimmer magazine and they have a whole review about the E36. They also put together a list of what parts are expected to go bad on the E36! I'd Def. go to a book store and pick it up!!!!

It's the April 2005 Magazine. It should say "E36 buyers guide" at the top
