View Full Version : How can I tell sport suspension from stock?
Okay, looking at the car, it's lower then stock one. But it doesn't have the sport package for sure. Anyone know a way I can tell the difference between the stock and sport or aftermarket suspension?
-You can measure the thickness of the sway bars (do a search for the diameters).
-You could try to see the part number on the shocks and compare with the ETK.
-You could remove the bottom part of the rear seat to check the decal with the codes of all the options on the car but I don't know which option number is the sports suspension.
-Regarding aftermarket suspensions it's more difficult although springs of many brands tend to be a different color than the OEM black.

there were 4 main suspension types.
regular
m-tech (standard on all coupe's)
M-Sport - fitted to 328 sports etc
*indivdual avus* - rare option..
m-sport are yellow bilsteins, avus possibly are too.
m-tech is black... usually all listed on any dealers original spec sheet, which are free to ask for

I don't think this applies over on this side of the lake necessarily....
check part numbers if you want the most accurate way.

yeah, for example in 93, there was no m-package in the US, so there was only two; regular and sport.
