powertrain decision

I have a 1993 325i with 217,000 miles on it, it ran a 15.0 second 1/4 mile with a AC snitzer chip. I'd like to either get a new engine, do some kind of bore or stroke, or try to put a m3 engine in it. I'm looking to spent around 3000-3500 on the parts/engine. I was just looking for ideas, I will be installing it myself so don't factor in labor cost.

I'd say put a new engine in it, I am getting ready to swap an S52 into my 92 325is. I got it for 2600 with 38k miles on it. so there are deals out there
