fuel pump?

okwell my mom was ssitting at mcdonalds enjoying a nice burger in her car wen the car suddenly shut off....she called me to help her out but i couldnt figure it out....i concluded it was the fuel pump....but im not sure...it was towed to the dealer tonight...(they gave me a pretty sick 328CI)

anyway...here the symptoms...turn the key...itll start.....press the gas..and no response....and itll shut off.....after oding that like 10 times....after a while it didnt even start.....just try to start...wat you guys think? so i know what to exact from the stealers......fuel pump or something else?

sounds like it could be the fuel pump, i had a similar situation and it turned out to be the cam sensor. but the cam sensor would mean that it was extremely hot outside not to work.
