05 mini S question...

My friend just got an 05 Minin S, and currently has about 900 miles on the clock.

Well I was cruising around in the car driving it nice and slow. I was just cruising down a hill in 2nd gear and it seemed like it was backfiring. little pop pop sounds.. kinda like what my buddy's catless wrx sounds like when he's running his stock axle back...


Is this normal???

Definitely normal. The exhaust systems were changed in the '05's. The newer exhausts are slightly more free flowing and don't muffle the poping sounds as much as the earlier exhaust systems.

i noticed this too when i drove my girlfriends. only happened to me in the past when i had aftermarket exhaust on the car.
