Question about 328i sport package [Archive] - Bimmerforums

So, my 328i has the three spoked steering wheel with the small ///M emblem on the vertical spoke--believe its the M3 wheel. Also, my shift knob has the /// in the top left corner. WHen I run my vin, the list of options/parts doesn't mention the steering wheel or knob, just the M sport suspension and sport seats.

Did all sport packages include the M steering wheel and knob?

Yeah, the steering wheel and knob were likely just installed by the previous owner. I don't even think there was an option for a 3-spoke steering wheel when ordering the 328.

I am pretty sure it came as part of the sports package in 98 as mine has it too...

My 99 has the 3-spoke M wheel you speak of as part of the sports package.. but I have an auto so I don't know about the knob.. most likely the previous owner did it?

Also, I think the 3-spoke wheels may have only come on 99's.

the e36 328is sport/m-tech package were made during the first half of 1999..

They came with 3 spoke steering wheel, the M side skirts and door trim, M seats and shifter. Also the usual sport package stuff like stiffer springs/shocks and double 5 spoke wheels..

I may be incorrect on some. It is nearly 5am, I'm dead tired about to fall over so my memory might be a bit off..

Yeah, it seems original to the car--maybe with 98-99 sport packs. The previous owner did not install them, but he bought it at 5K.
Anyway, thanks for the replies y'all. I love the steering wheel--wicked pissah. :stickoutt
