On my '97 540i6 with sport package, are the sway bars the same size as the M5's? I need to replace the rear swaybar brackets (going to go with TCD) and was wondering if I should swap the rear bar with the m5 bar and bushings while I'm at it.
Thanks!

The M5 rear bar is a good upgrade because it reduces understeer. The M-Technic 540i bars are 25/15mm while the M5 is 27/16.5mm.

I'm not sure what brackets you're talking about... I just ordered some for the M5 swaybar I'm upgrading my 528 with, and here are the parts:
33 55 2 229 604 (bushings, need 2 of these) - $4.72
33 55 2 282 118 (brackets, need 2 of these) - $1.40
