Exapnsion tank and Radiator

I have 34,000 soft miles on my 99 540IT Sport When does he expansion tank and radiator usally go south? Heard it is caused from engine tourqe can this be cured with a more flexible hose?

nissen radiators seems to be a better replacement since it's alum and not crapstic around the neck. if you are not sure when it was replaced, make sure it's done around 50K.... so i heard. never read anyone's break under 50K (soft or hard).
