i was driving tonight and my car made that ding sound like when som warning light comes on. so im all pissed thinking damn another brake light went out. but when i look it just says TEMP +3 C. and i look over at that little onboard computer square and the same thing is writen there. this has never happened to me before and im wondering if there is any reason my car found 3 degrees celcius important enough to personally notify me. 20 minutes later it did it again but then said TEMP + 38 F. so i don't know if there is some mode i somehow turned on that tells me its 3c for some reason.

anyone else get this to happen? is my car going to blow up the next time i start it :stickoutt ?

:rofl I laugh cause I went through this trauma first when I got my car too!!! All that it is telling you is merely that the tempature is getting near freezing so that you are warned about icy road conditions!

No just at 38 degrees. And yes, your car will ding when you are hungry, when you tired, and when you need to do your laundry at home.

e34's beeps at you, alot. Get used to it, they are chatty(and somewhat delusional My Moms 525iT thinkgs the brakelights are out, and if the engine oil is 10cc's low, it goes nuts. Mine thinks the washer fluid is low, and will go off with the car just sitting there with no key in the ign)

My car lost its dinging ability, which is somewhat of a good thing but it has caused me to leave my lights on once. I'm usually pretty good about remembering in the mornings, but when I'm tired and there's nothing more than a light on the dash that goes on to warn me, I'm out of luck.

mine was origonaly equiped with the self leveling suspension. well it was removed for bilstiens and eibachs but they did not remove the sensors and what not. mine is always giving me a susp "lvling prompt" and a beep each time. alot of people freak out and ask me what is wrong. im used to it now though. i had the beeper dissconnected before and didnt like it because i would notice something flash and then as i look down it would go away. now i just glance when it beeps and most the time its the susp.

Have you thought about adjusting the pressure regulator's U-bolt that attaches to the rear sway bar? That lever is what prompts the pressure regulator to do its thing to pump up the rear suspension...if the light is coming on...it may mean that the lever is prompting the signal when the rear suspension moves to a certain point while driving. Try readjusting the lever/rod.

See attached file for diagram of rear pressure regulator and how it's attached to the rear sway bar.

I bought my car and the chimer was broken, well that cost me a dead battery when I left the lights on all day.... I love the chimer, especially when it tells me when the hours is :)

thanks for the info Qsilver7. It wasnt bothering me to much. not enough to go look on how to fix it yet anyways. Ill deffinitely have to check it out though. I dont know what all was removed. I just know that it had self leveling and now has bilstiens and eibachs.

Every winter this same thing...."My car beeped!!!"

They don't blow heat. They aren't supposed to. Close them in winter.

E34 rear seat passengers don't rate as highly as the backseaters in a 7. :) No heated option, no recline option, no direct heat vents, (just the foot vents) very few with headrests.

The e32 & e38 7 series have the same set up...only fresh or cooled "conditioned" air blows through the rear center air vents.
Red arrows = warm air
blue arrows = cool air

problem being; whne you turn off the air, it doesnt actually turn off, and unless you run recirculate, it comes in pretty hard on the highway

Mr Project

That's why there is an 'on-off' dial on those vents. Just close them in the winter, and give your passengers a chilly surprise when they open them on the highway. :)
