3.5" intake question

i just bought the 3.5 euro HFM from my friend and i was wondering if i need to get the bump kit to make it work. i have the AA CAI and the HFM i bought has the reducer. not sure what this part does but it sounds like it reduces the size of the opening that attaches to the intake.
he was running the HFM with an early model Dinan intake.

yes you will need the bump up kit. The reducer goes from the HFM to the intake boot that connects to the TB.
