My 97 540i6 idles when warm at 400rpm, yes 400rpm! After reading some posts on here, I understand it should be idling around 700-800rpm when warmed up. When cold it only idles around 500-550rpm. I know it needs to idle higher especially when cold so it wouldn't idle so rough until it warms up.
Is there an idle adjustment screw I can turn to speed up the idle or is it all down by the computer? Any idea if there is something wrong that would cause the unusually low idle speed? The car drives like a dream and doesn't idle rough or die, it just idles lower that it is supposed to.
Any ideas or help is appreciated!
