I just upgraded my UUC RK2 Magnum Aluminum to the Whalen Shift Machine Knob and the WSM kicks ass.

The UUC knob reduced some of the notchiness but most of it was still noticeable. The WSM was much heavier and pretty much got rid of the notchiness. I should have done this a long time ago.

I'll be moving my UUC knob to the 318 where the gearbox is much smoother and have less of a need for a heavy heavy knob.

Yes I have read that article on a heavy knob being bad and I have read the counter arguments. I personally think that a heavy knob won't damage my tranny and improves the feel substantially. If you feel a need to warn me, keep it to yourself.

Now I am curiouse..I just bought a uuc short shift kit for my e30 m3, but I also ordered a carbon fiber shift knob. I know of the notchiness issues with the short shift, but have not heard of using a heavy shift knob to reduce that. can you clarify this for me....will I regret using the carbon fiber one :help
