Quiet Exhuast System

ok.. i've come from loud exhaust 4cyl scene.. and i am sick of it..

i want performance gains but dont want the stupid loudness that comes with most of it..


from personal experiences what do you guys think is the most quiet system that would gimme notable gains..

if anything.. nothing louder then the stock 350z exhuast

Most catbacks don't give much gain. It's more prominently looks and weight reduction.

Catback/intake/chip all working in conjuction would be best for gains.

EDIT - And the ActiveAutowerke exhaust is known for being quiet-ish. Or the Edge Motorworks quiet version if you are on a budget.

SuperSprint on my 328. Pretty much the quietest and flows with the best.

supersprint. every aftermarket exhaust will be louder than a stock 350z or G35. if you want, you can custom fab an x pipe and install a stock m3 exhaust. i've seen it done...PM powerslide if you want more info.

I think you'd end up being disappointed with the above project. Just go simple on this one with a high quality brand. Obviously your car won't sound the same as a Z or G35 but it won't be overly loud.

Also, I forgot to recommend Scorpion exhaust (www.bavauto.com). It is not the best, however it's probably in the middle between the quiet and loud spectrum on my 323is. Just loud enough at low rpms to give the car character and it gives a smooth and tasteful german accent and high rpms. Scorpion gets praise for its build quality and so far I'd give it a 7 or 8/10 on that. Thumbs up from me.

Supersprints sound really good at WOT. More of a deep throaty sound that still isn't very loud. A bit more pronounced than stock however. The AA exhaust is a bit more high pitched, but also very quiet.

Supersprint or AA would be your best bet IMO. The AA exhaust is a great mellow sounding exhaust with significant performance gains

I've got a Supersprint on my 318is, and it sounds sweet! Not much louder than stock, but very noticable. Nice deep smooth sound when idle or at cruising speeds, and it sounds even better at WOT :buttrock
It looks great aswell, and the build quality is second to none.
