Reverse lights are on when the running lights are on

The reverse lights stay on when i have my running lights on. It does it in park, drive, and reverse. When my lights are off it doesn't do it. I havent had this problem anyother time. I havent driven the car since yesterday night and it wasn't doing it last night either. :help :help :help :help :help Does anybody know whats going on?

Have your reverse light switch replaced. It could be that the switch is worn and sticking. I know for a manual transmission that it's relatively inexpensive (about $14.00) and easy to replace. I can't imagine that it would be too much more expensive for an auto.

Thankyou musch for the info, do you know aprox. where its located, (out side under the car near transmission, or under the consol) I am a diy guy. somebody with a bently manual maybe....... please... Im not afraid of anything. I put a head gasket on my car in my garage with no heat and no air tools. Thank you again.

On a manual tranny the switch is located on the bottom of the tranny and it's a simple unplug, unscrew, screw, plug operation. I vaguely remember something about the left side of the tranny for an auto but I can't remember for sure.
