E34 LKM Removal

Can anyone tell me if there is a trick to removing the LKM? I need to switch mine out, and I have tried to remove the old one with no success. It shifts from side to side and lifts slightly, but will not release. Any tips?

You can try tapping it gently on each end and along the top to help dislodge crud that has probably built up over the years...or if you have any electrical cleaner in a spray can (can be picked up at any electronics store like a Radio Shack). But basically you are headed in the right direction...just rock it from side to side while pulling upward on it.

Isn't it with the fuses under the hood? Pretty sure...skinny black plastic case, usually says "LKM" on the side :)
