No brake lights

All of a sudden my brake lights died. Am getting a message on the control panel that says BRAKE LIGHT CIRCUT SEE OPERATORS MANUAL. No bulbs or fuse are burnt out and all the wiring looks good. Anyone have any ideas.

Maybe your brake light switch is dead.

Brake light circuit on the Check Control display means the switch is bad. It's a PITA to change, but less than $20. What year 535 do you have? The last 7 of the VIN is the best way to ID the car to make sure you get the right part.

It's a 1989 535i if that helps.

Check your fuse box....make sure everything is down tight...also make sure there arent any cracks in the fuse box as well...if any air gets in it blows the fuses which could be causing your problem...I had this sort of issue with my e24
