I was wondering if anyone has some pics of Volk GT-C's preferably on a black E36. This is what the rims look like...

I've only ever seen the LE-37s on BMW's, but I've seen a lot of them.

I'm surprised more people don't sport 'em... :confused They are extremely nice/light/strong rims... I had some TE's on my car a while back, sometimes I wonder why I ditched them... :(

The only reason I wouldn't put them on a BMW is becasue they are a JDM wheel. Thats kinda like the hondas with DTM tips. You would loose huge points at a show like HIN. Thats just my 2. though :)

I agree, but I've seen plenty of bimmers with SSR Comps, SP1s and GT3s, which is also arguably "JDM." Plus, I wont be making it to any shows, especially not HIN... :eyecrazy

If I remember correctly SSR wheels wernt made in japan. I could be wrong but some reason I dont thin they are. They sure do look good though :)

They are in fact made in Japan.

In a specialized process perfected by Alumax, a leading aluminum manufacturer, uniquely structured alloy billets are heated to a semi-solid state (the consistency of soft butter) and molded in a specifically engineered forging press. The positive aspects of this process found applications in the aircraft and automotive sectors. Through an exclusive contract with Alumax, SSR conducted additional research and development and built their wheel manufacturing plant in Japan to produce alloy wheels using Semi-Solid Forging (SSF) technology. They further developed SSF technology, were granted a patent, and are the first and only SSF wheel manufacturer in the world today producing Semi-Solid Forged alloy wheels. This ultra high tech forging technology creates a very strong and lightweight wheel ideal for street or track.

The wheels look nice whether they are rice or not

No no, I do not think they are rice at all. They are some of my favorite wheels. I personaly don't like the idea of a wheel that known in the JDM world on my car. But I would never flame anyone for having them :)

Volks are FAR from rice.

They are some of the best wheels ever made for performance, right on there with BBS IMO.

That M3 with the TE37's is the hotness.

how do the 5zigen wheels compare to these te37s, ive put many on japanese cars. i actually put the first set of 5zigen Proracers in CA in a Bronze finish on an rx8 yesterday, 6 spoke light and very nice.

I don't believe Rays Engineering (Volk) makes wheels w/ BMW bolt patterns, hence not many people having them.

However, they will custom make you anything you want. Just gotta pay and arm and a leg and wait 6 months for them to arrive.

5zigen wheels are okay, but they are just your normal cast alloy wheels. Pretty much on par with ADR, Konig, Rota, Koesi or Mille Miglia (sp?) etc... Volks are forged, very strong, and extremely lightweight. :buttrock In the "JDM World", Rays Engineering (Volk, Gramlights, Nismo, Raliart etc...), Mugen, Spoon (re-badged Regamaster Evo's) Work and SSRs are pretty much considered to be the "best wheels." I'm sure there are others I'm forgetting, but you get the idea.

You can also order any wheels from Rays with custom bolt patterns/offsets.

See my sig for some "JDM" SSR's... ;) :lol :buttrock
