Why is the 325i turbo kit so much cheaper than the 95 M3 kit. I know that the 95 M3 kit is the Gen. III set-up but even before Gen. III the M3 kit was $2k more than the 325 set-up. A guy on DTMpower.net and I have been discussing this and when he bought his turbo kit from AA last year they told him that the only difference between the 2 was software, is this right? Correct me if I'm wrong but the 93-95 325 motor and the 95 M3 motor are almost identical with the obvious exception of displacement and maybe compression ration, but what am I missing.
Thanks.

Different components. Call them up and they will explain the differences.
PS. Moderators, please move this to the FI forum.

You were right ///MCubed, sort of. I just got off the phone with a very nice guy at AA and he told me that if I had the 325i kit and wanted to install it on a 95 M3 the only difference was software, that I could get from them. The new Gen. III kit has a different external wastegate, along with many other parts, that makes it a smoother and slightly more powerful kit. But the 325i kit and the old 95 M3 kit were the same other than software and can be used on either of the 2 motors as long as the software is swapped out.
