temperature guage?

i noticed yesturday everytime i start the car the outside temp. guage blinks about 6 times. can someone fill me in as to why it's doing this?

is it really cold out? mine blinks at 37 degrees, something about caution: roads may be icy.

the temp is pretty low around here. so thats all it is...good. i thought i was going to have to fix something.

It did it to me on the way home again today. it still freaks me out because it is the same ding ding as when it tells you something is wrong with your car.

I dont remember what it does when it is that cold when i start it. Its only done it while ive been driving and it cools down to 37 degrees. or in the morning when the temp guage finally gets down to 37 because it was warmer than that in the garage.

It does that at 37 degrees which I think is cold enough for frost and stuff. It should blink and flash. It'll do it every time. Even my e28 does it.

My '01 530 did it last weekend. The audible alarm startled me. Didn 't know what was going on for a bit.
