I used to have some 38mm offset wheels with 245/35/18 toyo t1-s tires on GC coilovers, set to full low in the back, no spacers, etc.

I did not have any rubbing issues.

I have some other wheels that have a 35mm offset, and people say I will rub a lot. However, isn’t only a 1.5mm difference in distance between the tire and fender? Am I better off going with 225/35/18?

How much performance loss will I be seeing going from a 245/35/18 à 225/35/18 on an 18x8.5 wheel?

Thanks

Btw, my fenders are rolled

as you probably already know the 35mm's will push the wheels further outward 3mm to be exact. it really makes all the difference. with the narrower tires you will not have any performance "loss", but maybe more of a tendancy to break the tires loose if you drop the clutch.

3mm or 1.5mm?

3mm or 1.5mm?
tire to fender is relevent to which tire brand...depending on which brand you use you will get different measurements.

I always thought a 3mm diff in offset equalled a 1.5mm increas in width on both sides due to the nature of how it's measurerd....am I wrong?

Anyways, do you think 245/35/18's will fit?

as I stated if you talking about rim to fender then you could have those concrete measurements to live by, but tires are another story. 245/35 may be ok but I suspect you may get some rubbing in "squatting" load. the fact that your fenders are rolled should help you out greatly.

altho its only 3mm difference from your last rim it is 6mm different from stock..i run et35 in back with 255/35/18 and et40 up front with 225/40/18 and no rubbing atall..altho this is on stock suspension, when i get coilovers ill be able to dial it in perfect...How wide are you going? if you go super wide you may not have any clearance issues..put possibly a camber issue

His car is lowered though...I had no problem either with 235/40/18 35mm offset rims.
