Hi Folks - looking for options on removing the front control arms (wishbone, traction strut) at the wheel carrier. I had thought that I would be able to pop them out, however so far I have been mistaken :)

If anyone has done this without the bmw tool (or equivalent) please let me know how you popped the ball joints out of the wheel carrier.

Alternatively if you have the tool, please let me know if it is available for use and where you are! thanks -

Pat

why do you want to remove them, if I may ask?

hmm, i think i used a shorty sledge hammer and a spreader. if you're replacing it don't worry about hurting it, its garbage anyway. i actually snapped one in half while out driving once causing some minor damage to the fender and suspension. all was fixed and happy now.
