Do all shifters on the e34 535's have the little "///" tricolor logo?

No.

So does it mean anything?
Or is it just $50 tick on the order sheet?

I don't even think they were available OEM, really all it is is a new shift pattern thing.

The knob is the same, just someone replaced the shift pattern thingy...

I bet it adds twenty or thirty horsepower at least!

I didnt know if it was a motorsports package like what came on some of the later e39 540/6's

apparently, someone just got badgehappy then

Yeah, it happens. My e21 320i came with an ///M knob from the PO. :dunno

THeres always that hop ethat your ca is just a litttle different..
Like my 323, the transmisison is a reverse shift patern from the regular ones, apparently, it is a more sought after trans, the whole car is lighter, etc(2450lbs :buttrock)

I don't think that would have come stock in '92. Probably a PO mod. :) The real problem is that if you want a lighted knob, the only ones that they make for our cars have the /// hashes on them....I don't wan't to pretend I have an 'M' car! :(

who cares. if you want a lighted shift knob and the only one available has ///M on it and you like it then put it on. just cause you have an m lighted shift knob doesnt mean you are pretending to be an m. mine has one and i love it. just happens to be an m as well.

Well it wouldnt be totally bogus to put an M wheel and knob on a car, BMW did it on the 540m sport, with only light suspension mods

Yeah, I know. They did that a lot on the non-M Z3's as well. It just doesn't feel right to me...but it doesn't bother me if other people want to do it.

Its sad, becasue the 323 keeps getting set to the back burner...I need 15 grand to finsih it..

I cant resist but doing it all retro..NA m20 (2.3) with a big cam, bigger vlaves, ITB, racing clutch, and widebody...at 2450 lbs..its a track car...its so light even with its worn our (300K km) m20 it was fun..when we work on it at school ,the kids pick it up and shuffle around with it, of course, the engien bay is stripped
