I am interested in adding the seat memory option to my 1993 525iT. Does it just plug in? There is an extra connector under the seat, is this for the seat memory? Any idea on part numbers? The online ETK that I usually use is down.

Also, is there a heated seat retrofit for the e34? I know that BMW sells one for the e36, but I couldnt find it for the e34.

I thought heat was std, my '93 it has heated seats but no memory, what does it say in the owners manual? I know there are additional panels in mine like there was more options available....

Heated seats can be retrofit, but it is rather difficult. The seat cover (the leather or cloth surface of the seat) must be removed, you have to sew in the heating elements, and then re-install the cover. Rather difficult for a DIY-er to make it look 'right' again.

The seat heating elements used to be available from BMW, but I think they've been discontinued. They're still in my ETK, but with no part #. You can usually find aftermarket universal-fit heating elements, and you could try to wire those in.

Personally I think it might be much easier, and not much more expensive (if you consider your time) to find a good set of front seats with the features you desire already installed.

On the memory issue...I don't know if they will plug into a non-memory car or not.

All I could find at bmaparts.com was the switch, is that all I would need? It was like $90.
