I am debating which would be my best option for Northern, NJ. The recommended 16" package comes with the Blizzak WS-50. The roads here are cleared relatively quickly after a snow which is making me lean towards the Dunlop M3. My question is this: If I should I get the M3 in a 16" or 17", or stick with the Blizzak and drive like my father-in-law for 4 months?

I live in the Boston area and just went with the Dunlop with the AT Italia rims. I decided to go with 16' only because we get many potholes here in the winter and my 18's are already bent, so I decided to go with 16' and [hopefully] not worry about fixing those rims during the summer months when I swap back. The guy at tirerack told me the Dunlops are a sporty winter tire, so they are not as good as the Blizzak's when it comes to deep snow, but they hold the road better in dry and wet conditions. So since I didn't want to feel like I'm driving my Corolla again, I went with the Dunlops...since you are down in NJ, you can probably afford to go with 17' Dunlops and be all set, I'm assuming winter conditions down there are not as bad as here.

Hope this helps
