Guys,
I just got 4 new Toyo Proxes 4's on my '01 540 and they free real sticky, which is cool, but I feel like the car is not as nimble. For example, if I twitch the steering wheel left right left....feels like there is more body roll and slower reaction time compared to my previous OEM Dunlop 2000E's. Then at higher speeds it feels rougher....before with the 2000E's the car would glide smooth, with the Proxes 4's, they feel more tractor like. Its quiter though. Strange???
Also, I notice some minor vibration in the steering wheel. The tires were balances and car 4 wheel aligned...the steering wheel does not shake at all....but you could feel the road more. Doing about 80mph feels not as smooth since it feels like the tire is gripping the heck out of the road. The tread pattern on the Proxes4's are pretty agressive and not very smooth looking as they do have some what of a jaggered block pattern....so I'm not sure if thats the inherent nature of the tire or something is not right.
I have about 100miles on the new tires, and I dont know once broken in they will be a bit smoother. Will it improve?
Any comments on this would be appreciated.
Thanks,
