Today my dad just got a 1999 528i for my sister . Kinda jealous but hey, I have my dream car and I'm happy already. The car has almost 22k miles and was driven by an old lady :alright. It came with the sport package but the front right wheel has major curbage, so I'm gonna help my sis swap the spare in there. Color of the car is silver (gotta check what the actual name is) and I'm really happy for her. We now have 6 bimmers in the household :D. Pics will come shortly after we give her a wash but weather's been miserable over here that I don't exactly know when we'll be able to accomplish that. So yeah, just letting you guys know I'm gonna be lurking in this part of the forums now to help my sis slowly mod her car (slowly. my car is still first priority :lol).
PS. The first mod she wants to do is angel eyes and I'm assuming the best way to do that is to get DDEs right? The OEM headlights w/ AEs seem waaaay too expensive :mad

i have one question already: where on the car can I check the actual color name?

I think to find the color you pop the hood and if your looking into the engine bay, there should be a sticker on the left strut tower with the name of the color. Thats how it is on my car.

its on the passenger side strut tower.

so first up on the list is to swap the front right wheel for the spare, get angel eyes, and replace the front bumper spoiler (cracked almost in half :(). Let me know what you guys think!
Oh and I did check the two shock towers even before asking the question but it's not there or am I just blind? I'll check again tmr..is the official name "titanium silver"?

It's probably titanium silver metallic, but Aspen silver metallic was also offered in 1999. I think my color code was on my hood so you can check there. Of course, I may be off as I have too many BMWs to remember where the color code is located.

A huge welcome to you and your sister.
Tell her to join and come hang out with us. I know that you might be thinking, all the guys will just bug her because shes a girl, but the 5er section is definitely not like that. If she has any questions or concerns tell her to join...
I especially love the picture of the e39 with the m3 sleeping in the background.
Congratulate her on the new purchase.

on the driver side door panel, it's marked as 8/1999 production, but the manuals and everything says it's a 2000 model. I later looked at the inspection manual and it said titanium silver.

my sister is a bit...computer illiterate and very car illiterate too. I doubt she'll join because all she wanted was "a nice and pretty car." Not a car fanatic like my dad and I :devillook. I love that sleeper picture as well :buttrock

I'm going to get my sis DDE Enchanced I think but she has 4300K HIDs which don't really match.

Damn Joe, you got a good eye! It looks like there are a few projects in that yard. My guess is there is a 3.0cs/2800cs, an E12 5er and a 280sl sitting there.

Yep, the wheels give away the old coupe, it looks like there is a pre 74 '02 in the garage, and I cant tell whats on the other side of the coupe.

That there is a 1974 3.0CS with brand new fenders, 95% rust free now :)
In the 8th picture, his other CS is visible..he cut the fender off :confused. There's another brown one stashed under the same carport :D
