The engine has:
-Forged Pistons
-Forged Rods
-Forged Crank
-Performance Cam
-Performance Valves
-Performance Lifters
-Ported Aluminum Intake
-Blueprinted/Built
-Edlebrock Performer Series Carburater
With 280hp/350tq prior to being put in storage and a vehicle weight of only ~2,000lbs.
This car is a project, as the car was in storage for about a year prior to being sold to me. I have spent a large chunk of change (more than twice my asking price) in the last 6 months on this car, but I have since replaced it with another BMW and I am willing to cut my losses.
Current Issues:
-The car overheats - Update 11/14 The cause of overheating was a bad fan control unit, this is a $40 part, although it took a bit of time to troubleshoot. I ordered one today from jegs and I will install it when it arrives - this is the VERIFIED cause of overheating, and with the installation of the new fan control unit, approx. 10 minutes, it will no longer overheat.
-The car has a slow oil leak out of the right-side valve cover once the car gets warmed up, this oil leaks on the hot engine and causes a slight amount of smoke from burn off - the cause, agreed upon by everyone who has seen the car, is most likely a cracked valve cover gasket as a result of the time in storage. $15 part, 1 hr install with regular hand tools.
-The car needs a tune up - Update 11/14 - Drove the car to a friend's shop and had him look at it in his spare time, the secondaries on the 795cfm carb aren't opening, and on this particular model carb they provide nearly 70% of the air - this is the cause of the lower power on the car. I am currently looking into rebuilding or replacing the carb, with this done this car will have some serious power, although doing so will bring it out of the project-car stage.
The Price:
$8500 or best offer
