-Recent Repaint
-Recently redone interior
-Rebuilt Porsche 901 5spd transmission
-Rebuilt brake system (pedals, calipers, etc.)

Engine:

The engine has:
-Forged Pistons
-Forged Rods
-Forged Crank
-Performance Cam
-Performance Valves
-Performance Lifters
-Ported Aluminum Intake
-Blueprinted/Built
-Edlebrock Performer Series Carburater

With 280hp/350tq prior to being put in storage and a vehicle weight of only ~2,000lbs.

This car is a project, as the car was in storage for about a year prior to being sold to me. I have spent a large chunk of change (more than twice my asking price) in the last 6 months on this car, but I have since replaced it with another BMW and I am willing to cut my losses.

Current Issues:
-The car overheats - Update 11/14 The cause of overheating was a bad fan control unit, this is a $40 part, although it took a bit of time to troubleshoot. I ordered one today from jegs and I will install it when it arrives - this is the VERIFIED cause of overheating, and with the installation of the new fan control unit, approx. 10 minutes, it will no longer overheat.

-The car has a slow oil leak out of the right-side valve cover once the car gets warmed up, this oil leaks on the hot engine and causes a slight amount of smoke from burn off - the cause, agreed upon by everyone who has seen the car, is most likely a cracked valve cover gasket as a result of the time in storage. $15 part, 1 hr install with regular hand tools.

-The car needs a tune up - Update 11/14 - Drove the car to a friend's shop and had him look at it in his spare time, the secondaries on the 795cfm carb aren't opening, and on this particular model carb they provide nearly 70% of the air - this is the cause of the lower power on the car. I am currently looking into rebuilding or replacing the carb, with this done this car will have some serious power, although doing so will bring it out of the project-car stage.

The Price:
$8500 or best offer

Car Location:
Southern California, 92653

very interesting car. exactly what engine is that? i cant think of a Porsche 3.8 turbo that was carbureted...? i think the the 993 turbo was a 3.8, but that car surely had fuel injection...

The car is a porsche hybrid, the engine comes out of a 1980 Buick T-Type, and it is a 3.8L watercooled Turbo V6

Very nice, very nice indeed. My dad has almost the same replica car. He took a regular 1970 911 Carrera, competely restored it, new paint and everything (oem line green), and then put the RSR body kit and 3.0 RS engine in it. The thing hauls some major ass. I give your car much props :D

I spent about an hour looking at the car with a friend, and we believe it is running poorly because of the carb - the lower butterflys on the secondaries don't open all the way, and on these q-jet turbo buick carbs the secondaries are huge compared to the primaries, they provide ~70% of the air.

turbo buick carbs are selling on ebay for $100
